Sabre Ace Demo
FAD - (Form Augmentation Device) This feature allows you to let the aircraft fly in
formation with varying amounts of input from you as the player.
ADF - (Automatic Direction Finder) This instrument allows you to track non-directional,
ground based navigation signals. The needle will always point to the station.
GCI - (Ground Controlled Intercept) This device simulates the help you would get from
a ground controller regarding the position of enemy and friendly aircraft relative
to you. You receive bearing, altitude and distance information.
ZAP - This feature will place you at the next designated ZAP point, the target area and home-base
True vs. Indicated Airspeed - True airspeed is the actual speed of your aircraft through the
air (in a no-wind situation, the true airspeed would be the same as the speed across
the ground) Since the air at different altitudes has a different air density, the pilot
is concerned with indicated airspeed for flying the plane, since it is a direct measure
of the amount of air flowing over the wings. As a rule of thumb, use true airspeed to plan
a flight, and use indicated airspeed to fly the airplane.
Target Designator Box - This is the small green box on the target listed in the GCI window.
If you turn on target lock your views will change to try and keep the currently selected
target in view.
If you have a joystick plugged in, you will not be able to fly using the arrow keys.
If your joystick has a throttle (ie.. Sidewinder 3D Pro), you will not be able to adjust
the engine power via the number keys.
The keyboard commands will not function correctly if Caps Lock is on, make sure Caps Lock is off.
